Mary would like to think that she can hold herself together relatively well in a crisis. There have been so many in her life, unfortunately. Most of them had involved deaths that she could not prevent. At least in this case she had prevented a death.

"Yorkshire, actually," Mary replies. She knows that it doesn't show in her voice, as she'd been coached in speech by a governess who taught her the 'proper' way to talk. "My ancestral home is in Downton, a rather small town in the countryside. Are you from London?"
