It's our first meme! Per player suggestion, it's about your Jewels! Tell us all about how your character wears their Jewel. Is it in an armband? A necklace? Have they set it in a belt? Is that Jewel proudly displayed, or has the character made an attempt to hide it?

In canon, a Jewel is large enough to be cut into both a pendant and a ring—the traditional way the Blood wear their Jewels. What that means is, like so many other things, a little unclear. Who knows if the Jewel is initially big enough to be the statement in a statement necklace or large enough to double as a 33 carat brass knuckle ring. What we're saying here? Go wild.

So Percy wears his opal on a leather necklace around his neck, sort of like this:

Except the necklace is also strung with five beads from Camp Half-Blood! His necklace is described here, for the curious. The article talks about the four beads given out at the end of the four summers covered in first series, but by his canon point there should be a fifth.

His necklace + jewel aren't exactly hidden, just sometimes worn over his shirt and sometimes under; but he doesn't make a special effort either way.

Haein's purple dusk jewel is...! A simple necklace. It's not refined or anything, but that's okay because neither is he.

It's on a black cord and he mostly wears it under his shirt. Sometimes it slips out and Haein just tucks it right back under. He's not trying to purposefully hide it, but he'd rather it not be out and about and potentially swing into his face. That would just be annoying.

I used models that were already in FFXIV! because lol diving into google is hard

Rhus wears his sapphire in a set of a pair of earrings and a bracelet. He's a simple but fashionable catte, and would have had someone make them based on stuff he's already seen and worn in the past.

The earrings are called Platinum Earrings of Casting but can be worn by any battle job so

The bracelet meanwhile is the Ryumyaku bracelet of [insert job role here]. Each battle job has its own bracelet but the model is the same for all of them.

Fun fact: I only realized the ryumyaku bracelet was dark blue and matched the sapphire earrings nicely in the first draft of this. If I hadn't, I would have had him wear the Platinum Scarf of Casting, which is part of a set of jewelry along with the earrings.

Peter has his sapphire set as one single jewel in an armband he wears on his upper right arm, under his clothes.

At the moment, Zita is keeping her Green Jewel raw and uncut upon discovering it on her person. She hides it in a hidden pocket of her cloak and she only pulls it out when she needs to identify herself, if needed.

Later on in the month, in a log I hope to throw up for her soon, Zita will have her jewel cut and set into a hairpiece accessory. She'll be wearing it in her hair a lot of times but she hopes the design of the jewel's cut + where it's been set will be inconspicuous enough that people won't pay much attention to it.

Small backstory detail time. So Takame has a little sister back home who he loves very much. She's also a crafter cause in FFXIV you can craft gear. It's terrible, never do it.

But anyway, he carries a ring around that she made him. Technically it's the Star Spinel Ring of Slaying but in this case shush it's something she made and his Purple Dusk Jewel is now embedded in it. It looks like this.

Pretend the stone is lighter... The ring is actually too small for him (contrary to the screenshot) so he wears it around his neck as a charm on a necklace like this.

Gotta maintain the that-guy-with-a-paracord-bracelet aesthetic. It fits in with the rest of the collection he has going on.

Venom's mildly salty that he can't just hold onto it because a rock doesn't really flow around inside a human body all that well.

Molly's is so hard to encompass my vision, so here's a series of images.

So Molly has most of his jewel cut into that Moonbow Shape there (so it's a very specifically designed upside down crescent moon with a little silver thread on each end on a silver chain. It's not fully the Moonweaver symbol but it looks as much like it as possible, since HE CAN WEAR HER SYMBOL A BIT MORE FREELY NOW, but also he still pretends to worship the Platinum Dragon.

And then he has one of these on his right horn.

parado wears a necklace already, a set of colourful pixelesque cubes on a simple strap. he has his red jewel attached as an extra pendant to the end of this! it is in a silver cube cage, the jewel suspended in the middle. miraculously, i found a pretty exact reference, and his necklace is sold by premium bandai (5832yen, yikes), so here are some visuals!

the remaining fragments are embedded in a side of each other cube, so its all sparkly now.

Jonathan wears this in the open because he's not especially concerned about who knows about it.

I kind of want him to have a necklace too but he's not a jewellery person really.

Much like Percy, Leo too wears his opal on a leather necklace. As for the type of his opal, because apparently there are types... well, since it just so happens that there's a type that is the Mexican Fire Opal, I mean, is there any contest?

Leo mostly wears his gem underneath his shirt, but depending on the situation he might wrap the leather cord around his wrist, or just keep it in his tool belt. You know, in case of a fire hazard and the leather cord burning accidentally.

Mary loves fashion and jewelry and thus displays her red stone prominently. She wears both of these, which are styled similarly to the trends from back home.

I'm thinking Mordred would've swapped out the pendant she normally wears. It's not something that's stated to have any real significance to her and was probably bought in a modern store with the rest of her clothes.
