Another month comes and goes.

This month, Strangers arrive peacefully and are expected when they arrive. Alas, the Queen's Residence is still in chaos, and there's much afoot. The Strangers have arrived just in time for a six day festival that coincides with the spring equinox and the beginning of the planting season around Draega.

You can read the full event here. The post is currently locked for responses and will open at 8PM EST on the 21st. Take this time to talk to each other about what you're interested in doing and accomplishing in this event.

Questions should be asked here. For this event, Strangers have the chance to run into all major NPCs except for Queen Fayura. As such, please use the top-levels below to hash out plans with the NPCs. You don't need to do this, however! NPCs may crash your threads just because. As always, you may drive the cityfolk as you please.

Some additional information…

► The Guilds have a significantly stronger presence in the city than they have had in previous months. The landens are far more raucous and belligerent with the Blood. Should you wish for a little more conflict, you are welcome to work confrontations between landen and Blood into your threads. Bear in mind, the landens will be the instigators here.

► The Blood and the Ebon Council's presence has been weakened. The Blood are quieter and wary, avoiding confrontation as much as they can. Landens are far more obvious in their use of Muters and their carrying of Breakers.

► While Strangers won't be able to interact with Fayura during this event, she is out and about in the city. Strangers will find her helping decorate and actively participating in the celebrations during the first three days.

After this event…

► New players can assume that characters know all the information given in the info pages. Whether you handwave a conversation with random NPCs or assume that Loren answered your characters' questions, as of the end of the event all PCs have been informed of the landen Guilds, the Ebon Council, and the state of the world.

► Characters may move out of the Queen's Residence and establish their homes elsewhere. Many buildings in the city are empty and in need of repairs, but no one will stop Strangers from moving in.

► Any one who remains at the Queen's Residence will receive a modest stipend, enough to cover food and drink. Loren will make clear that Strangers who do not live at the residence will not be afforded this money but also that Strangers who do stay are considered part of the Queen's court in as much as actions they take will reflect back on the court.

► Allairavar reminds everyone who chooses to stay at the residence that if you live with the court, you practice with the court. He expects all the Strangers who stay to be on the practice fields with everyone else at dawn. To those who are reticent, he explains that no one needs to learn how to fight only how to defend long enough for help (he seems to imply himself) to arrive.

I'm seriously torn between them dancing and an accident happening because it must happen Daylight is dancing or them just cavorting around the festival excitedly. (Will Takame ride the carousel with Day? Will he?)

And excellent - Zita and Takame can seek refuge from the nosy excitement together. She may have come from a carnival but there's a reason Zita took up handling a booth and not, like, the main acts or something. (Also - Zita dragged Takame into party planning? That can also be a thing that happens and she's hanging out with him out of him being a friend + wanting to say thanks for giving a hand.)

Would you like for them to meet in the festival if you're interested in them interacting? Daylight will be going in as himself so he'll definitely stand out in the crowd thanks to his height and appearance.

Jon is going to be Not Happy about this daylight stuff (and I kind of hope I can get him to have to wear a sunhat because lol) and also generally a bit touchy since he's recently come out about his need to taste ur bodily fluids, so ofc I want to make his life difficulty because suffering is fun. So friendly and possibly not friendly (I'm looking at you, Haein) teasing about it is always great with me, plus his offer is always open if people want to try being a vampire snack. Always needs more snacks.

Also if anyone drags him to go play carnival games I will be very delighted.

Otherwise he's probably going to be keeping to the back while Fayura does her thing with the water because getting hungry during a ceremony like that is rude.

Oh, god, "sweetly naive robot" indeed sounds like an excellent storm to be interacting with Lucas.

I am definitely interested, and pff, that will indeed catch Lucas's eye! If you wind up putting up a toplevel, one of us shall definitely need to hit the other up, and if not, feel free to hit Lucas once everything kicks off however/wherever you like!

I am a writer, I cannot do math. Seriously- Daylight is ten feet and five inches and made of (mostly) metal, so he's heavy. There is a seriously strong chance he will break the poor carousel that was only trying to do his job and he will do his best to help fix it. He promises.

Please tell him how to interact with some of the Guild Masters. Especially the head of Medico who makes Daylight feel like he needs to ring the stranger danger bell even if they're in public together. :

This is more of a General Note/question but Verim's the kind of dude who makes Sansa very nervous so is he the sort of person to have noticed that and be sensitive to it or is he really just focused on his Queen and not particularly going out of his way to be anything other than indifferent to the strangers?

Zita will help in PARTY PLANNING since it’s something she’s familiar with in the Midnight Carnival! If anyone needs help or needs an excuse for how they got roped/dragged into this bit, feel free to assume or say Zita gently pressured them into helping. I would also love to thread out the scenario where Zita helps rope others into this. :>

For the FESTIVITIES themselves - She'll be mostly sticking to the walls because while she's from a carnival, it doesn't mean she automatically likes all the noise and mayhem that's going down. She will find herself drifting towards certain booths - food and games and the like - since they're familiar to her. If you need your character to actually win one of these games, Zita is your girl to get tips from because she's seen them all.

As for FARMING… She will try.... Physical work is something she knows she's poor in and she knows, already, that she's more likely to mess something crucial as planting fields meant to help with the food supply of the city. She's very nervous as a result. She’ll try to offset this by offering healing services to those farming. She will be willingly trying to help select individuals, depending on her CR with them, but you're more likely to catch her nervously touching seeds and tools with uncertainty.

Daylight will definitely help in the PARTY PLANNING! Mostly in the form of carrying stuff and putting things up as directed. Maybe make suggestions on the decorations and how to decorate the simple breads? A guy can dream. Definitely the type you go to if you need someone with strength and muscles and willingness to carry everything.

He’s also going to be all over the FESTIVAL! You're very likely going to catch him playing games and trying to win prizes for the kids and himself there. He ended up bonding with a class worth of kids and they are going to have fun together. He'll also be offering to do sketches for people in the name of fun, too, so if you're interested in that that'll be part of his toplevel! He also may or may not end up wrecking the carousel when he tries to ride on it....... Listen he wants to have fun......

Last but not least — Daylight is actually really good at gardening! It's a hobby of his and he's very good at it and takes lots of pride in this skill/hobby of his. As a result he'll be able to get into farming easily and confidently, knowing what to do like how to till the soil and how to plant and how to keep animals from getting to the seeds. So if you need someone to help you out in the FARMING angle, he’s your guy!
